William Danforth was raised and Mississippi County Missouri and his
grandson John Danforth became a United States senator in 1976.
William founded the Ralston Purina Co. and was the co founder of the
American Youth Foundation. Ralston Purina became a large pet food
supplier in the United States.
I found this interesting, the Ralston Purina checkerboard logo had
evolved from a personal development idea that he put in his book "I Dare
You".
He had a concept of physical, mental, social and religious needs in
people and he mentions that all of these needs have to stay in balance
to have a successful life.
