This is a two volume set of books providing you with an introduction
into the human mind. Based on his lectures and some of his publications
for what he feels to be some of the most interesting information for a
student interested in psychology.
The first volume contains discussions on the brain and methods for
analyzing behavior. The book also includes studying consciousness time

William is the brother to Henry James who was a famous novelist and his
sister Alice had published her diary and was also a writer. As a young
man William got to be a visit Europe and later on he would return often
visiting this continent.
As a young boy Williams suffered from depression and other physical
ailments and at certain periods of his life thought about committing
suicide. He often referred to mental ailments as soul sickness and spent
a lifetime trying to figure out what caused it.
Believe it or not William James went to Harvard and was in appointed a
position in physiology. James also studied medicine and biology and
began to teach those subjects.
During his career at Harvard he met Oliver Wendell Holmes, Charles
Pierce, and Theodore Roosevelt. These people along with others he met at
Harvard proved to have a lasting impact on the rest of his life. |
